There’s no redemption for these medical ideologues - the only escape from them we’ll have is when they decide to pivot from providing gender-woo medicine because it’s no longer fashionable or profitable.

Yvonne van Dongen's avatar

That’s right. This issue is so divorced from reality that it can only be sustained by faith in current approved ideologies because it is fashionable. The sooner it loses its lustre, the better. Actually if people looked at the polls on punters’ views on gender ideology, they’d ditch it now.

Lucy Leader's avatar

Gender ideology is absolutely a faith-based enterprise because like all cults, it can only survive as long as its adherents remain true to it: https://lucyleader.substack.com/p/religion-cult-whatever

The fact that the numbers on puberty blockers are declining is a positive sign

Katrina Biggs's avatar

Yes, a decline in new prescriptions is good, but a decline just because kids have been moved from puberty blockers onto cross-sex hormones quickly is another matter. InsideOUT recommend not staying on puberty blockers too long, due to the potential for adverse effects, and getting onto cross-sex hormones asap.

Yvonne van Dongen's avatar

Oh god, is that what’s happening?

Astra Lucia Verum Omni's avatar

And cross-sex hormones would not have adverse effects as well? That's crazy!

Lucy Leader's avatar

FFS there is no way to "safely" use heroin, even though clean needle exchanges have mitigated the risk of getting HIV or hepatitis from needle sharing. Similarly, there is no way to "safely" bind your breasts or tuck your penis. Here is the reality around "chest binding": https://lucyleader.substack.com/p/chest-binding-a-modern-day-version

And there is absolutely no way to ethically do "gender affirming care" because the entire foundation is built on the sand of delusional thinking: https://lucyleader.substack.com/p/who-are-you-trying-to-fool

Noel Reid's avatar

AND is it taxpayer funded?!?

Yvonne van Dongen's avatar

InsideOut is. Gets most of its funding from govt contracts. Over $1m.

In 2021 the American Booksellers Association apologized on Wednesday for including what the nonprofit trade organization described as “an anti-trans book” in a recent promotional shipment to members.

“This is a serious, violent incident that goes against ABA’s policies, values, and everything we believe and support. It is inexcusable,” the ABA said in a tweet. “We apologize to our trans members and to the trans community for this terrible incident and the pain we caused them. We also apologize to the LGBTQIA+ community at large, and to our bookselling community.”

The world has gone mad!!!

Yvonne van Dongen's avatar

I will never cease to be amazed that this ideology was ever taken seriously. Mad is right.

Jenny Ruth's Just the Business's avatar

Words become “violence” - just nuts. We have laws against actual incitement of violence but exposing genderwoo just isn’t (though I’m regularly censored on LinkedIn. I commented recently on the idiocy of the “queers for Palestine” slogan and LinkedIn told me it was a “hateful” post. I can’t help wishing all such idiots were forced to go to Gaza, but we all know that would be a death sentence.)

I’ve been thinking about the power of magic words in the last week or so. First Stuart Nash is removed for his bad words, then Winston is scolded for saying go back home and now the PM is apologising for his words to a Rotorua business outfit. None of these word crimes are really what is ailing the country. Feels like a diversion to me, a media circus or sideshow. I doubt the public gives a toss about any of these verbal misdemeanours.

Jenny Ruth's Just the Business's avatar

Agreed. I get Bryce Edwards’s summary of headlines every morning and it’s quite enlightening to see so many on the same subject. I couldn’t believe it when Luxon apologised for his own “transgression” which looked like a reasonable observation to me. But I can’t think what possessed Nash to email Finlayson. It was that rather than what he actually wrote in the email that screamed this man has poor judgement

Yvonne van Dongen's avatar

Yes 💯 when it came to trusting Finlayson. That was the real judgement fail. But Luxon didn’t need to apologise. Now even the mayor of Rotorua is saying that. It’s all just maddening to read what is really just froth and not substance.

Linde Rose's avatar

very interesting subject of 'the magic of words'. the trans ideology does seem to be able to put people under spells

Pirate Hag's avatar

I can’t coherently set it out, but I think Kindsters and woke lunatics are increasingly pivoting to the online world, so the non corporeal is on equal footing with the real. The future is online avatars, virtual reality and “online hate”, words-as-violence and a new one, “Eventism” which is the “bigotry” of not treating scary things that minorities supposedly fear happening, the same as things that actually happened. I’m sure actual cops will be sicced on those who are deemed to have misbehaved but the jobs of the various “experts” overseeing policy and checking virtual behaviour will be from the home office.

The only place in the Middle East these loons would last longer than five minutes is Israel - but they don't want to see that.

Noel Reid's avatar

"I can’t help wishing all such idiots were forced to go to Gaza, but we all know that would be a death sentence."

You're absolutely right Jenny. I really struggle to believe these people don't know what their fate would be, if they went there.....

Jenny Ruth's Just the Business's avatar

And they pretend to hate Israel (or is the hatred real? I think the depths of their ignorance suggests they’re just performatively othering Israel) the only place in the Middle East where they could live freely.

Jenny Ruth's Just the Business's avatar

The idea that surgery can “create” a vagina or a penis is such arrant nonsense. Every time I read descriptions of these operations it turns my stomach. And the complications rates afterwards are horrendously high.

Pirate Hag's avatar

And developing the surgical techniques involves the most monstrous vivisection. There is a special place in Hell for the people who cause the suffering of the innocent and all animals are innocent. It’s ironic there’s an overlap with militant trans activists and veganism.

Just Boris's avatar

The technical term I believe is performing an Addadictome. But yup, totally batshit crazy.

Yvonne van Dongen's avatar

I’d never heard that term before but it’s rather good urban slang. Thanks!

Tony Richards's avatar

Horrific to read this Yvonne, it calls to mind Josef Mengele, also known as the "Angel of Death", the SS officer and physician at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, who carried out horrific medical experiments.

Yvonne van Dongen's avatar

It’s just like that. I wonder if Mengele et al believed they were doing good. This lot do.

Katrina Biggs's avatar

It seems so. In their submission guide for puberty blocker restrictions, under the section titled 'Risk', there's a paragraph which says: "The identified potential risk of bone density development happens when there is a lack of sex hormones in one’s body. This risk can be mitigated for trans young people by putting them on sex hormones that align with their gender as soon as possible ...."

https://insideout.org.nz/submission-guide-for-puberty-blocker-restrictions/

Yvonne van Dongen's avatar

Thanks Katrina. To think the govt funds this rubbish. I wonder how many clinicians are taking their dubious advice seriously.

Katrina Biggs's avatar

As we know, no amount of evidence sways the gender ideologues from their determination to trans kids.

Persephone's avatar

On the plus side, it's good that the wait list for these ridiculous surgeries is 27 years. That does make it impossible for a lot of folx to mutilate their bodies in that particular way.

Gender medicine will absolutely go the way of the (nobel prize winning) lobotomy, the mercury cure, and bloodletting, but... but bloodletting lasted for thousands of years and was still taking place over a hundred years after some doctors and surgeons began to notice that it didn't work, so don't hold your breath.

Just Boris's avatar

Hippocratic Oath my arse. First of all “do no harm”. Well there’s a fail right there.

Linde Rose's avatar

Reading all the comments here I had a terrifying zombie like vision, of 10 years on, when there are a lot of genitally deformed people regreting their transitions (or even those still full embodying )and how angry they might be (or are in the first place) and what that might look like.!!

Pirate Hag's avatar

There was another lunatic I spotted the other day, in a Spinoff article about the Definition Bill. British ob/gyn with a “gender diverse” child. Also another yank, not in medicine but both her and her kid (or maybe two kids) are “gender diverse”. NZ is the Genderborg Hermit Kingdom after all ☹️

John McLean's avatar

We mustn’t forget deranged Dr Susan Bagshaw, whose support for puberty blockers is based on nothing more than her hot feels that disturbed kids fully know what’s best for them and can consent to their own sterilisation and mutilation.

Yvonne van Dongen's avatar

The road to hell …. all those perverted good intentions. It’s tough when your opponents are the likes of the Bagshaws who are regarded as guardian angels in Chch (I’m fm Chch). One thing about trannys - at least they look and sound deranged. These kindly folk are much harder to resist. Like punching Bambi.

Yvonne, could you (or one of your readers) please help me in my confusion (which I hope is not age-related), and explain to me how, on the one hand, the forms of gender-affirming genital surgery you mention above are perfectly legal (and taxpayer fundable!) while, on the other hand, the Virginity Testing Practices Bill currently before Parliament would ban hymenoplasty in New Zealand altogether, regardless of one's age, regardless of whether one in fact consented to the procedure, and regardless of whether one might find it - dare I say - affirming? I'm honestly struggling to work that one out, but then again, I'm just a confused pale stale male who has clearly outlived his time!

How do we get rid of these toxic imports. A change is needed in criteria. Yes we need medical personnel but not this kind. Time for a cleanup of the immigration act, otherwise we'll be over run by looney losers from the asylum. Wonder if Winnie is aware of this set of costly liabilities.
